Snow, snow, and more snow.  Well it's almost March and I know I am ready for spring - crocus, daffodils, daisies, roses, green trees......although the snow does look so nice when it first falls,  it is a total mess now - melting in the day and freezing at night......another inside day.

Hooray - another snow day.  Staying home from school, no kids - what to do - had breakfast, going to read and relax and promise will go up to studio and made jewelry....stay tuned for pictures.....

Monday

Blah - today - Monday - back to work.  After a whole week off we return to work....Cant fathom getting up at 5:30 am but did it.  Arrived at work to hear about a friend's son's death and a colleague entry into the hospital - so not going so great.  BUT, did get some great gifts for my birthday including some jewelry items wanted but never got to shop for.  My DIL gave me a box of beads, findings and real neat stuff I can use.  Now all I have to do is get myself started on jewelry making.  Instead I am here on the computer - really must get my head into beading again - and as for picture taking - my new camera is due here on Wednesday...What makes someone procrastinate?  Maybe I just have to get my head somewhere else....hopefully, next blog with have some great pictures of my inspirations.....

So, today everyone came over to celebrate my birthday.  When you get to my age you kind of want to pass over that time.  I know it is just a number and if I dont think about it, it's ok - I guess your own mortality catches up with you.  Anyway, hubby insisted and the kids, and grandkids and friends and family came over for our usual birthday bash of pizza and ice cream cake. 

Been watching the weight again so I didnt over due it - one slice of pizza and a small piece of cake.  Lots of water - down 17 lbs and dont want to ruin it.  Had a great time - loved seeing the kids, the gifts were great and what I needed but mostly it made me feel very loved.  My sis was there and found it has been a year since we were together..she had some rough spots and the time just flew.  We made a pact to keep in touch more often.

Special Day

Yesterday I spent a lovely day with DIL who invited me and friends to a jewelry party.  Now, is that up my alley or not?  The problem was there was so many beautiful pieces and it was hard to decide what to buy - but buy I did - $93 worth.  Some were birthday gifts so I dont feel guilty.  We were surrounded by beautiful jewelry, nice friends and food.  What more can I ask - except the melting of this snow.  Anyway, today I plan to clean house and maybe get some jewelry making in myself.....Waiting for my new camera still in order to take fabulous pictures....and the grandkids will be over this afternoon.  Life is good.

Surprise!

Well, they are predicting snow - surprise, surprise....I think we have had enough - we had less than others but still enough.  I need the spring...where are you.  But this weather enables me to read and right now the book I am reading is great.  I have a Kindle and the books get downloaded in no time and I am 30% into the book.  I have read Dani Shapiro before but this book - a memoir - is not usually my kind of book - I am more into mysteries - but lo and behold I cant stop reading.  If you ever get a chance - pick this one up.  It's entertaining and inspirational and thought provoking.  We can all stand a little deep down inside soul searching and this book makes you look at life from a different angle and actually question yourself.  I have already started making notes on this book.  It questions our existence, our beliefs, our family - our lives....

Still waiting for my camera - cant wait to get started with it.  Plan to take some great pictures and will post here.  But when I checked it isnt even shipped out yet.  Probably on Friday they say.  Hope soon as I want to use it for alot of upcoming family events.  Well, going back to my book - check out Goodreads.com if you are  a reader......

Happy Valentines Day

What a wonderful day....weather wise could be better and despite the fact that I pulled my back during this icy snow time; we were invited for a Valentine breakfast with son and DIL and the two boys - bagels and hugs and kisses.....now we are planning to go to dinner with my son and his girlfriend - chinese food, my favorite.   Got a new canon camera with special lens for my day and also my upcoming birthday - cant wait for it to get here and start taking photos.  A few more days and catchers and pitchers show up for  training - so can spring be far behind????  We have alot to be thankful for....plan for this week I have off to try to make some jewelry, so be on the lookout.....off to dinner, a drink and good company....

Thoughts

It has been awhile since I have been here.  Not busy good but busy...it seems things get in the way and before you know it a month has passed.  Maybe because next week is my birthday and I am getting older that I think a bit more than I probably should.  Got a call from sis with bad news that our brother had a massive heart attack shoveling snow.  Spoke to him today and he sounds good though.  It was a warning...It makes you think how precious life is and that we are only here for a little while.  When you are young you dont tend to think of things like that but here it is - time flies.  So, this Valentines Day will spend it with the people I love and give it much thought that we should spend every minute not being mad at each other but giving kind words - sometimes a text that asks "did you get to work ok? since it was snowing bad" goes a long way.  Just let someone know you were thinking of them.  I am off this week; plan to spend time with hubby, friends, family and maybe even do some beading.  Cherish the moments........
