Its Tuesday...time to

follow and be followed......hooking up with TO THE TOP TUESDAY today......and will see where this goes....been getting alot of followers.....have you ever noticed how many bloggers are moms, new moms who rant and rave about their children.....I feel like I missed out on a whole part of life.....there was no blogging when I had my kids.....and what blogging I could have done...I had five children!

So instead I will have to be content to blog about my grandkids and with 6 of them.....well, I have catching up to do......like yesterday at the aquarium......

making the rounds.....to see the little fish...and the big fish...........and the gift shop..........

I AM UNDERSTANDING......

MYSELF.....Really, I never thought about it until today...I am figuring out what made me fat and I am changing my life....

Stress...#1 - eating made me feel better

Boredom #2 - eating made me feel better

Work #3 - eating made me feel better..............and there was no control over portion sizes....

Today was hectic, stressful and filled with work......but eating DOES NOT make me feel better because eating leads to gaining weight and when that happens, I eat more to make me feel better.......

So now I have a variety of other things that make me feel better......blogging, crafting, reading, walking, (went to the Aquarium today with the grandkids), calling some friends I havent spoken to in a while, getting pizza for the kids while eating my NS food, and last but not least, stepping on the scale and registering a LOSS.

Had the greatest day/night Wednesday   ..as a birthday present for hubby, our son got tickets to go to the Met Game at Citifield....so that left me and my DIL...who had the greatest idea....go out for dinner which included a pitcher of Sangria and then return home to watch on a Blockbuster DVD with English Subtitles - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo..... It was a great night talking about this movie in relation to the book we both read (me on my Kindle and her on her Nook) ....

Thirsty Thursday????

  ...............so I came across this blog where they were talking about drinking....so thought I would follow because last night my daughter in law and I put away a pitcher of Sangria when we went out to dinner......but when you check out obviously MARvelous and her blog - oops....its lemonade she is talking about.....OK, slipped up there but, I can relate to lemonade since I have two of my grandsons working their lemonade stand last week (check out previous blogs) and I can do lemonade (even though the sangria tastes so good) ......anyway, check it out because you will be surprised at how much Alex raised for a good cause just by selling lemonade.....personally I prefer the pink ---- lemonade, that is.....

Wednesday......Rain Again

Saturday was a great beautiful day to put up a lemonade stand and thats what the boys did.....they had a ball, made some money........and actually got along with each other......life is good......

Summer Summer, Where are you going?

Two months I am off....and only have two weeks before returning to work.....where did the time go?  Plans to redo the bathrooms, replace the bedroom windows, and get the roof re-shingled.....all went out the window....instead we went away for a weekend, and have been running around with the grandkids......cyclone games, mini golf, aquarium, Hall of Science......

Wait a minute......renovating house......= lots of money; playing with grandkids = priceless.........so on that note....we played miniature golf right here in brooklyn, and had a great time......beats renovating the house anyday......

Umbrella Day

So yesterday we went to see the Cyclone game again....they were playing against the SI Yankees and it was also umbrella giveaway day......and of course it rained.....it was on and off so now big thunderstorm.......anyway, the boys had their DSi's and  I opened an umbrella.....and all was well......when life gives you lemons, make lemonade......

Selling some seed beads.......

Now that I am closing out my Etsy Shop I need to get ready to open my new shop...not giving you a hint on what it will be....but in order to open up the new shop, named Beader Bubbe - by the way.....I need some money to buy inventory....

Here we go again...some more blog hopping.....a great way to meet people.....well, just check out Java's Blog and come along hopping all over.....the following questions are posted by her and I think its a great way to get to know fellow bloggers.....so here goes....

1. What is your favorite dessert?  

It has to be cheesecake......but now that I am  on a diet (15 lb down) I dont even look at it....although some of the yogurts come in a cheesecake flavor....close enough...

2. What do you wear to bed?

I wear a night shirt.....


3. Do you get regular manicures/pedicures?

pedicure once a month and go for manicures every other weekend.....we must pamper ourselves; even doing a haircut this coming weekend.

4. Did you play any sports in high school?

 Does volleyball count?  Is it a sport? 





5. Do you have an iPod?

Yes, doesnt everyone.....I not only listen to music but also have downloaded some podcasts.....


Now off to see what I can do with two grandsons on a day that looks like it is going to pour.......guess that leaves out miniature golf like planned.....so I have to be creative today.....have a great one!

Haven't been doing....

......much of anything.....Low week with just hanging out, watching the grandkids....been too hot to move....rain in between (not enough to water to lawn tho) and just vegetating....why because that's the way it is.....even the weekend was lazy...but that is probably going to change next week....

plans to take grandkids miniature golfing, plans to meet with other grandkids who came back from Disney (havent seen them for over a month)......plans to get my hair cut, a pedicure.....and checking on the lease for my son's car......also have another cyclone game this week (only one, the following week has 4 games in a row) and would also love to go to the movies.....this all before reporting back to work September 7th....

but did manage with all this rest to finish a great book, you should

check it out....The Girl Who Played with Fire and have started the next part of  the trilogy...The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo------so in my laziness, I have read alot......

BUT SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO SIT BACK AND SMELL THE FLOWERS.............

  I seem to be getting lax in my blogging these days.....between grandkids and reading there is no time...plus before long I will be returning to work and havent even done any beading at all...my desk lays bare of any new items and I just cant seem to get motivated.....love the lazy days of summer.
But today is different, I am here - following along with a Friendly Friday Follow and hope to make some new friends....so if you are around check it out....love other crafters and promise I will somehow get into my craft room and be inspired.....or I might go to the beach.....

OK so I havent been around in the past 4 days.....I do have a good excuse...life keeps getting in the way....in the way of my jewelry making, in the way of my blogging, and even in the way of my reading.  OK, I did read today, but that was in the doctors office....too much happening and not enough time.

so today want to show what we did over the weekend.....took the grandson to a meet and greet the cyclones BBQ and we all had fun, games, crafts and batting practice, free food and ice cream....and then the game....had a ball.
