Wiiiiiiiiiiiii
I purchased the Wii Fit Plus in order to get some exercise in my life and lose some more weight.....the diet plan I am on has already made me lose close to 20 lbs but since I have much more to go, exercise was the way.....I hate exercise.....I am finally walking much better but I am not a walker for exercise. So here comes Wii Fit.....
It stayed in the box for almost a week and on Saturday the grandsons were over for a sleep over and busy upstairs.....so I decided to sneak downstairs and try this out.
Of course, I could not hide from them, they found me and wow, they wanted in on this Wii...they have their own games they play but they wanted exericse....like they needed it! We put on for multiplayers.....and found such exercise games as hoola hoop (they werent even around for the hoola hoop) so I thought this was a piece of cake....I grew up in the hoola hoop times.....lost that one........
Then we tried the snow ball fight......lost again.......the skiing was a bit better but the 6 year old beat the pants off on me on that one......I then tried the obstacle course and when I finally came in last on that one, I gave up.......besides I felt like I ran a marathon anyway.....I really must practice when they are not around the maybe then I will win the crown.....no wonder these kids become addicted to the Wii......but the best part was having fun with my grandsons......priceless.....

Did you know.....
....there was a challenged and banned book list? As an avid reader and one who would be livid about being told what I could and could not read......I wasnt aware how big this was until I read on Till We Read Again's blog that its national banned books week.......http://www.ala.org/ala/issuesadvocacy/banned/bannedbooksweek/index.cfm.......
During the summer, when I manage to read at least a book a week and realizing that there are so many books and not enough time to read them all......I cant even imagine this....and yet it exists........so to those avid reader like me.....remember, this is a free country and we should all have the right to read what we want......dont like the content? then you dont have to read the book......

Need a book to read?
On the foggy streets of Seattle, a serial killer known as the Street Butcher is terrorising the city. Newspaper photographer Nick Wilder is accustomed to seeing gruesome homicide scenes. But when the Street Butcher claims Nick's brother his latest casualty, the case suddenly becomes very personal. Determined to find his brother's killer, Nick stumbles into a dizzying labyrinth of deceit and danger. As he digs deeper, Nick discovers his own past holds a key to unmasking a clever, diabolical psychopath. But the real motives behind the murders are as cold and stark as Seattle's winters - and much more blood will spill before Nick learns the horrifying truth. ...........

This was such a.....
....lazy weekend...The holidays put me in the mood to relax....after 3 days of cooking beforehand, having to serve dinner and having the kids and their kids over....Sat and Sun just rolled into one big DO NOTHING day.....I got to thinking that this is a good thing....
Monday is back to work, a hectic full week, come home, clean, watch grandkids, there is laundry to do.....sometimes a DO NOTHING day is good...How many of us just relax long enough to feel better...we are a world of constant moving, constant doing....we must learn to stop and smell the flowers.

We are entering Fall.....the colors are changing......enjoy the world around us.......because way too soon we will be seeing
not this.......
but this........think about it!
UP, UP AND UP.....
How many times do we bring ourselves down?
Once a day, once a week, once a month…..several times a day…..why,? thin people don’t do that……so from now on lets try to be up…..up on all we do for no matter what we do, there will be times things don’t work out….but that is life…..
So I am here to report “up” time………..
I will not be brought down by my scale……….I will be up on the fact that recently I went to see another Cyclone game (they are in the playoffs) and they give out free stuff…all summer long, they give out free stuff…….shirts, umbrellas, hats etc……
The shirts come in one size – extra large – and I take them home because hubby likes free stuff but he lost 85 lbs and can no longer fit into an XL……I on the other hand have gained so much weight, I too cannot fit into an XL -- probably an XXL would be better for me……….BUT WAIT! I have lost 16 lbs already….could it be, could it be?? Well let me try that XL shirt on -----------WOW, it fits, it fits…….

HAPPY GRANDPARENTS DAY
There is nothing more satisfying than being a grandparent. The day my children were born were great but the feeling you get when your children have children is beyond words...I am lucky enough to have 6 wonderful grandchildren who are growing faster than weeds.....Each age is special, whether they are 9 or 2....they are all special and dear to my heart. I am one of those lucky grandparents who lives close to their grandchildren and get to see them on a regular basis. So, to all those grandmas and grandpas out there......may today be a grand day and remember to cherish your children and grandchildren always.....lots of hugs and kisses make all things better.....and remember, spoiling them is our privilege....

Today..............
Today....
I awoke, got on the scale, and gained a pound...I proceeded through the day annoyed at myself and asking why.....then I remembered what today was. September 11th where people lost loved ones and I said - "so I gained a pound"....how insignificant compared to what happened 9 years ago. I was there, frantic for two hours until I heard from my hubby (who worked near the WTC) and two of my children who worked uptown......
Today, I put things in perspective, whats important and whats not.
Today, I will change the things I can.
Today, I will accept the things I cannot change.
Today, I ordered the Wii Fit...and will begin seriously exercising.....and will awake everyday thankful for what I have - a wonderful husband, great children and great grandchildren, my health, a good job, great friends........because life is short and....."You’ll miss the best things if you keep your eyes shut."

Back to School
Although the children were not due in today, all staff had to be back....it was a great day outside, too nice to return to school, but we did..........everyone looked great......we had a nice breakfast, a faculty conference.....and then teachers and para went off to set up their room......
As a school secretary I hit the paperwork.....and my desk is a mess again....like I never left.....new staff, old staff....who's leaving, need supplies, emails, schedules, mailboxes.....it was so busy, I forgot to go to lunch......
But tomorrow promises to be more hectic for the children will be back, excited, dressed so neatly and wanting to see old friends, make new ones and meet their teachers.....
So to all those who are involved in the education system....may this term be as great as the weather was today.....may all your classes come out smarter than they went in.......and as educators, may we all learn something ourselves....because you are never too old to learn.

1. I would rather be blogging then cleaning my house...........
2. If I could change careers, I would love to be a professional photographer.........
