sURPRISE

I spent Saturday shopping.....and still not done.......With Hanukkah next week and Christmas right after, I will be in the stores alot.....Even met some co-workers doing the same...hardly stopped to talk as we were all busy trying to get out of the stores before noon....or was that 1 pm......anyway, we shopped and shopped....now I have to wrap all the presents.....where did I put the wrapping paper and tape?

But the surprise was that while shopping I saw a winter coat I needed....since losing weight the old one is swimming on me......now that I lost weight I found myself going down 3 sizes already....what a great shopping day I had.....now back to wrapping......

I read a blog the other day....

and then realized it was from April....but it was interesting anyway.  The question asked was what would you like to accomplish in the next 4 years...I answered even though the giveaway was over and now I would like to pass it along to all of you....my answers were:

1. retire
2. run my jewelry business full time
3. take a cruise
4. be blessed with a granddaughter (altho I love my 6 grandsons dearly) I know I dont have any control over this one.....bu wishes are good.....

and to add one for good measure......take a photography class....Love my camera and would like to learn more about it.

   apple strudel, pumpkin pie, vodka and table clean up.
I thank my eldest son and daughter in law for the flowers and helping to clean up after dinner.
I thank my youngest son and his girlfriend for bringing up the extra table and chairs and clean up after dinner.

But most of all I thank all of them for being here on Thanksgiving, joking around, watching football and playing cards.......it does a mom's heart good to see so much love under one roof.

Still on call............

Today I came home from work.....got everything up to date because I had to call in tonight to see if I was needed for jury duty..........

then at 5 pm I picked up the

 

and made my call to Federal Court...............the recording said I did not have to report and therefore, I am going to work tomorrow...........oh well, at least it completes the week......I thought I would have great stories here to blog about my court experience........tomorrow I have to call again to see if I am needed for Monday................just maybe?

School Bus

Have you ever noticed how reckless school buses drive?  These are vehicles that are transporting our children and they constantly cut me off and speed up at lights.....It is amazing...it's bad enough that over night they snuck in a parking garage around the corner from my house...and every morning I awake to  beep, beep, beep......those buses backing up to exit the garage.....then when I finally get on the road I sometimes have to take the long way around so I dont get stuck behind the gas guzzler....with black smoke coming out of its tail pipe.....





And these are the vehicles we trust to take our children back and forth to school.............Hmm whats wrong with this picture?   Have you had an experience with school buses? 

jury duty? did you say?

Today I drove downtown to report for jury duty.  I must say Federal Court is beautiful, clean, nice people....guess I was on the right side of the law......the seats were comfortable, air conditioning...can get used to this.  Anyway, we sat, talked to a new friend I made and then we went for lunch.  It was a beautiful day so we sat in the park across from the court until we had to report back. 

I actually finished quite a few chapters in my book (kindle) and relaxed....better than work.....but then it came to an end.....they didnt call my name but told me to go home and call every night after 5 pm to see if I have to report the next morning.

So I drove home and after 5 pm called in..............I will be returning to work tomorrow......but I have to call in every night until next week......It was quite a different day; very relaxing compared to my usual job......and the weather was perfect.....life is good.

Ring Around the Rosie

Have you checked my Etsy store lately?  I made rings.....I posted only two but I made four....so there are more coming soon......I am also making earrings......get ready for the holidays....The rings and earrings are reasonably priced so it wont hurt your pocketbook, since all of us are feeling the crunch lately......so  please do check it out.....

They are strung on elastic and therefore, one size fits all.....I usually dont duplicate my work, so you will get an original.......

What should I write.....

I wanted to create a blog entry today and all of a sudden I got writers block.  You would think I am writing a novel...How come as I drive to and from work, I can think of a dozen things to write about.....but when I sit down in front of my computer - I go blank.

It's not that nothing is happening in my life....I am so busy I dont get to sit down much as it is...wait, what was I going to say?????

Anyway, I decided to do a search "things to write about" and google showed so many things, like,


100 blogs I hope you write about   nope, nothing there for me.....how about, A Million things to write about   A million?  really?

And then it hit me...why dont I write about what I know....there are so many things, like my job, my family, my grandkids, my neighbors, my neighborhood......how about cooking (oh, dont cook much these days).....my jewelry, my online business.....the city, the state, the whole country.

So as you can see there are loads of things to write about.....but not right now....I cant think of a thing.......but I will, soon.....got to rest now....wrote alot!.

Today I did a trial run to the Federal Court I have to go to on Monday.  For jury duty that is....I love to drive, and have a gps system...but somehow I always get lost.  So took a drive down there...nice area....nice little plaza to sit in for lunch...grass, trees and across the street is a parking lot....not bad....understand the building is renovated.....I might just like this jury duty stuff....

The Pocket Shop

Do you have an Etsy Shop?  Well I do.....and the other day I was just surfing around Etsy.com and came across the Pocket Shop  

What's that? you say.....well, it is wonderful......if you have an Etsy Shop and you blog, the combination is perfect......go to this website and actually make a widget for your blog where your visitors can actually see what is in your shop, who hearts you, your prices (the pictures keep changing) and if they click on the word "buy" it will take you to your shop where you can place that item in the cart to buy.....Amazing....

And the best part.....it's sooo easy.  I can usually work these widgets out slow but sure; but this one took all of 10 seconds to do.....and for me thats fast......

Tonight I Called.....

......and the recording said that I must report for Jury Duty on Monday..........I have no problem serving but somehow someone will have to do all my work....but I will bring my laptop and probably will be blogging along waiting to be called......

Must call tonight...........

Tonight starts my job of calling in for jury duty.....yep, I received notice that I have to serve in a Federal Court...This might be a long one......I must call in every night starting tonight to see if I have to serve......do you think I can bring my laptop and blog while I wait in that big room to be called......well, will let you know what happens .......

Hey I made a Facebook Page.....Although I am computer literate somewhat, I wanted to make a special page for my Beader Bubbe Jewelry and somehow added a "like" button.....I just hope it works.....I used to have an Etsy Page on Facebook and somehow that got knocked off and I have been unable to put it back.  I think they are working on it again because I recently got an email about it.....Will have to fool around with that page too.......Can anyone tell me?


Meantime I would like you to "LIKE" me and let me know if it works.....

Google Analytics lately and have noticed that not only are people reading my blog but they are also visiting my Etsy Store and not only visiting but the average time on this site is 3 minutes.

I  feel so good about this, but then again I have started putting in alot of work in my store.  I made business cards which I have been handing out, connected with Facebook, put a "like" button on my blog.....and even go on Flickr to promote my business.  Still waiting for sales but am optimistic that this will happen.....

I am also wearing my jewelry and have gotten many compliment son my bracelets especially.  It is then I give out my business card.  Is there anything else I should be doing?
